polarscope:

Eye of the Sahara, also known as the Richat Structure and Guelb er Richat (Sahara Desert, Mauritania, West Africa) is a deeply eroded, slightly elliptical, 40-km in diameter, dome. Originally thought to be caused by impact of an asteroid, it is now argued to be something of a geological nature. Geologists are still unsure of its origins.
